My Favorite Author

Is hands down Julie Garwood. Her historical romance with Scotland setting have inspired me to go Europe but ironically when I was in Europe I didn't go Scotland. She was and still is my companion since high school days many years ago and I have every single one of her historical romance. They are now antique first editions, with stain pages and lined backbones, collecting dust in Cousin Rain's house. As old as they are, we've never thought to replace them with newer editions.

I am both delighted and shocked that someone would donate a full set of Julie Garwood historical romance to the Salvos. You can't even find such a complete collection in any bookstore big or small. I would only part with my collection after I am six feet underground. Even then I would willed it to Cousin Rain. Cousin Rain asked me to get this collection and keep it in Koala Land but I felt it was a waste to have 2 copies of the same book. At the same time I was reluctant to see it go to someone who does not appreciate these books.

And so I hooked up with a game friend of mine Lady Bree and asked if she would like to have them. She almost fainted with joy. Apparently they were very rare in The Land Under the Wind. Luck would have it in the end, I got these books for free as a Christmas gift from Salvo - token of appreciation for my volunteer work.

Postal's not cheap, it wouldn't be worth it if the books were not free. She took a picture as proof of receipt and mentioned the Custom drill a hole through the parcel to see the contents even when I declared they were books. It must have looked like packs of drugs from the x-ray machine. I am glad these books belong to someone who would love them as much as I do.
